The Needs of Teams
Teams are created to accomplish what cannot be achieved by individuals alone – to be more than the sum of the individual parts. Teams produce specific work products which could not be produced by one business function or individual alone.

To achieve this, team members need complementary skills, a common purpose, a clear set of performance goals and joint accountability for achieving those goals.

Creating a clear vision, aligning behind that vision, developing common commitment and sustaining direction is a challenge for all teams but Leadership Teams need this in abundance.

Many teams never achieve this performance level because they allow hierarchies to stifle debate, prioritise departmental goals above organisational goals, devote little time and effort to achieving team objectives and have an insufficient focus on collective performance.

Team Coaching allows teams to rapidly improve their effectiveness by increasing open communication, encouraging debate, establishing a common purpose and team goals and building new strategies to enable growth and sustainability.
